A German regional court ordered pilots at Lufthansa airline to halt their strike on Wednesday, ruling that the industrial action was illegal. Some 140,000 passengers had been grounded by the two-day walkout, called by pilots’ union Vereinigung Cockpit in a bitter dispute over changes to retirement plans.
