Panicked staff called for medical assistance when the expectant mum's waters broke six hours into the 19-hour flight and an on-board doctor was able to successfully deliver the baby girl.The unnamed woman, who was almost 32-weeks pregnant, was flying from Taiwan to Los Angeles with China Airlines when the drama occurred.

“The woman is tough as nails,” said passenger Amira Rajput, who filmed the video.The plane made an emergency landing in Alaska, where mother and daughter were taken to hospital.

Airline staff said women who are not yet 32-weeks pregnant are treated as normal passengers, which is why the mum-to-be was allowed to fly.After being refuelled, the plane continued its journey to Los Angeles and was only three hours behind schedule.Both mum and daughter are reported to be in a good condition.
