Consequently, he has forwarded an amended Appropriation Bill of N250 billion to the state House of Assembly for approval to enable his administration work within a manageable financial framework.

Sapele – Governor of Governor of Delta State, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, has said that the state’s 2015 budget of N408 billion was no longer realistic given the present financial reality.

Okowa, who stated this during his inspector tour of projects, however, assured that he would not abandon projects started by the previous administration. “I think that the contractors are trying with the quality and pace of work going on here despite the challenges of the rain.

Restating the need to stabilize and manage the state resources prudently, the governor said his administration has proper planning programmes that have enabled it carry out projects within a limited period.

Senator Okowa disclosed that his administration would improve on impacting technical knowledge to the students by employing teachers that would teach technical skills even if they would have to be part time basis.
