In his message
message marking the Islamic ceremony by the State’s Commissioner for
Information, Mr. Kayode Akinmade, on Wednesday, Mimiko said the season
called for steadfastness and commitment towards uplifting the nation.Ondo State Governor urged Muslims in the
country to use the period of the Eid-el-Kabir celebration to reflect
on their contributions as individuals to the Project Nigeria, asking
the citizens to do more towards making the project work.He noted that the nation, at this time, needed the cooperation of all Nigerians to make things work.He said it was only by doing this that they would live up to the expectations of God.While
congratulating Muslims on the Sallah festivities, the governor urged
all Nigerians to imbibe the spirit of tolerance, love and good
neighbourliness among themselves.Mimiko noted that the current challenges facing the nation, arising from the global economic meltdown,
were not insurmountable with collaborative efforts while the people
lived in peace and harmony and tolerating their differences.Promising more dividends of
democracy for the people of the state, the governor also thanked them
for their cooperation and support for government’s programmes.
