Security Operatives Rescue Medical Doctor From Kidnappers.

The doctor who is a pastor with Redeemed Christian Church of Nigeria is an Obstetrician gynecologist with the Federal Teaching Hospital, Abakaliki. In a statement signed by the Spokesman of Ebonyi State police Command, ASP George Onoura confirmed the abduction and rescue of the victim.

Security operatives in Ebonyi state have rescued a kidnapped medical doctor, Dr. Johnson Obuna by unknown gunmen barely a day after his abduction. Dr. Obuna was kidnapped on Tuesday around 9pm at his private hospital at Aguogboriga Estate in Abakaliki while he was about leaving from the day’s work.

 “In the early hours of 8 september 2015, a distress call was received from the operations control room of the Ebonyi state Command that a medical doctor was kidnapped by hoodlums. A combined team of SAR, anti-kidnapping, SIB operations and patrol team from the Central Police station and area command Abakaliki quickly swung into action and rescued the victim hale and hearty on 9 september 2015,’’ said ASP Onuora.

 He added that efforts were on to arrest the fleeing hoodlums. “Ebonyi state police command remain resolve to sustain the war against all perpetrators of heinous crimes in the state”. The Chairman, Ebonyi chapter of NMA, Dr. Agwu Umahi and some members of the association commended the security operative for their prompt respond towards the rescue of the doctor.
